About The Role

Location: Lyndhurst, SO43
Days & Hours: 8 hours per month.  Alternate weekends either on a Saturday or a Sunday from 10.00am-2.00pm - there is some flexibility with hours but must be over the lunchtime as Adrian likes to go out for lunch.  Also some flexibility to cover hours in the week or at weekends for absences of the other Support Workers.
Pay: Weekdays £12.00 per hour / Weekend: £13.00 per hour
Driver required? Essential
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes, On duty and to attend training, must have business insurance and a mileage would be paid
Essential: Supporting adults with a disability (physical, cognitive or mental health) 
Desirable: Experience working with adults with a brain injury.
Family Pets: 1 dog
Interviews Week Commencing: As and when applications are received
Start Date: ASAP (subject to satisfactory employment checks)

Adrian is in his 60s and suffered an acquired brain injury a number of years ago.  He is a very independent gentleman but does require support with tasks such as attending appointments, completing admin tasks and social activities.
 
Your main role will be to support our client with social and leisure activities with the objective of enabling him to pursue a fulfilling and active lifestyle.  He enjoys going out for dog walks, going to garden centres, theatre, to the beach and having lunch out.  He is fun loving with a good sense of humour but does need reassurance and encouragement at times.

Pay and Benefits:

In order to promote continuity of our high care standards, you will be offered:

  • On-going support from a dedicated Case Manager and HR department

If you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection.  However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role.  Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.
