About The Role

Location: Chester, CH2
Days & Hours:  Permanent hours of 24-hours per fortnight on a Wednesday.
Plus bank hours to cover for existing staff, variable days. 

Shifts will be supporting Robert during the day 
8:00am to 11:00pm (15 hours) and then overnight as a sleeping night from 11.00pm to 8.00am (9 hours).  This would need to be worked as a 24-hour shift.  

Pay:

  • Weekdays - £15.00 per hour
  • Weekends - £16.23 per hour
  • Sleeping nights - National Living Wage - (currently £12.21 per hour for workers aged 21+)

Driver required? Essential
Driving Clients Vehicle? Yes, Vauxhall manual car.
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes
Essential: Supporting adults with complex emotional, behavioural and attachment needs. Confident with behaviour management and de-escalation techniques. 
Desirable: Experience working with adults with trauma and an interest in therapy

Robert, a caring gentleman with a lovely smile, was born in 1986. He really enjoys participating in leisure activities including snooker and darts, and also enjoys listening to his favourite bands (heavy metal) and attending music concerts, including cover bands, and attends a local disco once a week, within his local area. He really enjoys walking in the countryside and had a goal to climb Snowdon. He is looking for a support worker to help him enjoy all these activities on a regular basis.

Robert has short term memory affecting his ability to live independently and requires help and support with the domestic tasks of daily living; planning and organising his daily routine as well as being able to enjoy his hobbies and interests.  He has a small number of close friends who are very important to him.

This job would suit someone who is calm yet very proactive and able to bring lots of enthusiasm to the role. Someone who can work 24-hour shifts and enjoys the same hobbies and music would be ideal.  You will be a lone worker but will have support and supervision provided by a Team Leader and/or Case Manager. This is wonderful opportunity to join a supportive team where you can make a real difference to Robert’s life by maximising his opportunities and promoting his independence wherever possible.

Pay and Benefits:

In order to promote continuity of our high care standards, you will be offered:

  • On-going support from a dedicated Case Manager and HR Department

  • A full driving licence (endorsements to be disclosed).
