Job Summary:

Hi, I’m Thomas!
I’m a kind young man (born in 2009) with a great sense of humour and a big love for swimming, music, dancing, and McDonald's! I live at home with my family and go to a place I call “the gym” – it helps me with my physiotherapy and keeps me moving.  I like to go shopping and try out various takeaways!

I have cerebral palsy and a brain injury from birth, which means I use an electric wheelchair and need help with some things like hoisting, manual handling, and physiotherapy. I also have scoliosis, which causes me pain sometimes, but I’m getting treatment soon. I find it hard to process information sometimes, so I really appreciate people who take their time with me and help me feel comfortable.  Being an advocate for me is extremely important, as well as ensuring I am safe.

If you’re calm, proactive, and enthusiastic – and you’d enjoy helping me live my best life – I’d welcome your application.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

I’m looking for a patient, caring, and fun Support Worker to help me explore new places, enjoy activities, and support me at home. You’ll be helping me with:

  • Morning, afternoons, and evening support
  • Extra hours on weekends and school holidays
  • Driving me in my Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV), automatic
  • Assisting with my physiotherapy and personal care
  • Helping me make choices and be involved in decisions
