About The Role

Are you friendly, flexible and after a rewarding job in a home environment in Fareham? If so this may be the job for you! We are looking for a committed Female Support Worker and Driver to work with our awesome teenage client who requires day and night support from a reliable, understanding and friendly person, who also likes to ensure life is full of fun! She attends school daily in Alton and we require a person who can work outside of school hours and during school holidays.   She requires help with all activities of daily living and will also require help to enable her to access play, learning and social activities.  A key part of the role is to provide assistance to our client’s parents with the care of their daughter and supporting them with every day family life.

Location:

Fareham, Portsmouth

Hours:

Approximately 20 hours per week, before and after school, nights, weekends and school holiday cover, plus Bank Hours adhoc to meet the needs of the client.

Remuneration:

£9.60 to £10.66 per hour days £13.94 to £16.02 per hour waking nights

Free DBS Check and on-going training and support provided.

 In order to promote continuity of our high care standards, you will be offered:

  • Induction,

  • Relevant training opportunities (including The Care Certificate),

  • Regular clinical supervision/review meetings,

  • On-going support from a dedicated Team Leader/Case Manager and HR department.

About You
  • *Female Support Worker due to personal care tasks (Driver does not need to be Female as no personal care tasks)
  • Experience of working with teenagers, cerebral palsy and seizures beneficial but not essential.
  • Good communication skills, initiative, tact and diplomacy are all required.
  • Being able to be proactive, encouraging, creative and having a good sense of humour are all important.
  • The ability to support our client's independence, to encourage her to use her skills as much as she can rather than step in automatically to do things for her is essential.
  • A full driving licence (endorsements to be disclosed) and willing to drive the client’s wheelchair adapted car preferable but not essential.
  • Qualifications in Child Care or Completion of The Care certificate or working towards a qualification. Preferable but not essential
  • Trained in Emergency First Aid preferable but not essential (training can be provided)
  • Trained in Epilepsy Seizure Management preferable but not essential (training can be provided)

This position requires a disclosure request from the DBS.

ILS recruit on behalf of their clients and therefore, if you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection.  However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role.  Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.
