Nearest Train Stations: 
Hackney Downs, Hackney Central
Days & Hours:
12 hours per week: 4pm to 7pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays during term time. Additional hours available during school holidays.
Pay: Weekdays
£12.00 gross per hour Weekdays and £15.00 gross per hour Weekends
Essential Experience:
Experience of working with young people with special needs is essential
Desirable:
A good sense of humour, patience and reliability are the qualities most desired.

We are looking for a confident *Male Support Worker/Buddy to support our client Harry, a very sociable and personable 16 year old with learning difficulties. He has a kind nature and a good sense of humour and enjoys the company of his family and friends. Harry requires support to help him continue to develop his memory, thinking and problem-solving skills. He also needs support with those tricky things in life like managing fastenings on shoes and clothes, and some self-care tasks.

He is looking for support both within his family home and out in the local community, to help him develop his interests and independence.

Harry particularly enjoys playing games on his iPad and outdoor activities such as playing football, swimming and going to the cinema, so you’ll need to enjoy these too! He is keen to develop his independence with lots of day to day activities including shopping and travelling on public transport, including buses and the underground, to explore London!

 
Pay and Benefits:
  • £12.00 per hour Weekdays and £15.00 per hour Weekends
  • On-going training & support provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata
  • Sick leave entitlement
  • Free DBS check.
 
In order to promote continuity of our high care standards, you will be offered:

Satisfactory references & proof of eligibility to work in the UK required.

This position requires a disclosure request from the DBS. A conviction will not necessarily prevent you from being employed.

When a persons life has been changed by injury, we address the practicalities.  We work with children and adults who have had moderate or catastrophic, complex injuries.  We assess individual needs and are able to provide a comprehensive Case Management and Rehabilitation Service designed to maximise independence.
 
ILS recruit on behalf of their clients and therefore, if you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection.  However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role.  Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.
