About The Role
The Role
 
Our client is a young woman with complex physical and communication difficulties, who lives in the Swinton area. She requires a *Female Support Worker/Carer to provide her with support in her home environment and to access therapy and social activities within her local community.
 
Our Client has very limited movement and is wheelchair dependent. She receives physiotherapy and attends hydrotherapy sessions. The candidate would be required to participate in therapy sessions and to carry out therapy programmes on a regular basis.
 
 
Our client is fully dependent for all personal care. Her appearance is important to her, so an interest in fashion (clothes, hair and make-up) would be an advantage.
 
Our client is very sociable. She engages in various activities within the local community, such as attending the gym, theatre trips, the cinema and days out. She enjoys mini breaks and holidays, accompanied by her Support Workers/Carers.  Our Client's family have dogs in the home so you would need to be comfortable around dogs.
 
Location
Swinton, Manchester
 
Part-Time Time Hours:
Approximately 28 hours per week to be worked as follows:
  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 16:00 - 19.30
  • Friday 09:00 - 19:30
  • Saturday 11-4.00pm and Sunday 11:00 - 1.30pm every other weekend
There may be some flexibility for the role to be split between two people, provided the hours specified above can be covered.
 
There may be the possibility of additional hours to cover day and evening shifts, as well as the possibility of occasional sleeping night shifts and trips away.
 
 
Bank Hours:
These hours are adhoc and variable to be worked in accordance with the needs of the client.
 
Remuneration  
  • £10 per hour, Monday to Sunday, £12 per hour, Bank Holidays 
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata
  • Free DBS check.

In order to promote continuity of our high care standards, you will be offered:

  • On-going support from a dedicated Case Manager, Team Leader and HR department.
About You

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends & willingness to work flexibly
  • A full driving licence
  • Experience of working in a support worker role with people with complex needs, including use of a hoist for moving and handling is preferred
  • An interest in fashion (clothes, hair and make-up) would be an advantage
  • Comfortable around dogs
  • Water confident to assist with Hydrotherapy.
