About The Role

Location: Poole, Dorset
Days & Hours
: Morning and afternoon shifts can be worked by more than one Support Worker

Term time: 27.5 hrs need covering per week. Monday to Friday 6:00am-9.30am and two evenings per week (one of which would preferably be a Thursday) 3pm-8pm. Additional hours on ad-hoc basis.

School Holidays: Number of hours will remain the same or increase with mutual agreement in school holidays and shift times will also change by mutual agreement to cover middle of the day. 

Pay: Weekdays £12.00 per hour depending on experience
Driver required?
Confident driver with full driving licence
Driving Clients Car?
Yes, our client’s large family vehicle
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes?
Yes, on duty and to attend training.
Essential Experience: 
*Female – personal care required. Experience of working with children with complex needs and/or physical disabilities and working with associated equipment.  Willingness to undertake some medical interventions such as injections, medication giving (training will be provided)

Desirable: Experience working with children

Pets in home: A small dog

Hattie is 11 and she is looking for support to help her with her morning and afternoon/evening routine.  Hattie has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair to get around.  She is very independently minded and lives with her parents and younger brother in Poole.  Hattie can be described as a very girly girl who enjoys clothes shopping and having her nails done.  Hattie’s favourite hobby is swimming and she also enjoys horse riding.  She also likes going to the cinema, park and out for lunch.   At home Hattie enjoys watching films.  

 

Hattie requires support in her own home and in the community to join in play, leisure and family activities.  She also requires full assistance with toileting, bathing, teeth cleaning and other personal care tasks. 

 

As Hattie’s Support Worker, your role will be to support her throughout her morning routine and get her ready for school, which will include monitoring her, administering medication, feeding her and providing all aspects of personal care. 

 

Additionally, Hattie requires a Support Worker to work two afternoon shifts to assist her after school with swimming, horse riding, assisting with physio tasks or free time at home.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated person to join a home care team and develop existing skills to support this very special little girl in a truly rewarding role.

 

Pay and Benefits:

£12 per hour

On-going training & support provided

5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata

Satisfactory references & proof of eligibility to work in the UK required.

ILS recruit on behalf of their clients and therefore, if you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection.  However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role.  Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.
