Carer/Support Worker/Client Recruitment
£10.50 per hour Monday - Sunday
About The Role

Location: Swindon
Days & Hours: 
84 hours over 4 weeks, working Monday's 6pm - 8am and alternate Saturday Waking Nights - 6pm - 8am
Weekdays £10.50 per hour Monday to Sunday

Driver Required: Essential, due to home being in a rural location
Essential Experience:
Confident about working in our client’s own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of him and his family. Aptitude and desire to work with children/young adults with disabilities.

Desirable: Experience of and qualifications in caring for children with disabilities.

Pets: Dogs
Accommodation (while on duty):
Fully adapted family home

Connor aged 12 is a delightful young man, who is extremely close to his mother, grandmother and aunty, loves animals, especially the family dogs, he has his own assistance dog who travels with him to places where he may become anxious. 

Connor loves going out for drives and swimming, both for leisure and in school time.  He has a certain toy that he shakes and moves to help calm him but also for his enjoyment.  He enjoys streaming YouTube on his tablet rather than watching the television.

Connor is fully independent in getting around and with his personal care, he has Cerebral Palsy and Autism and requires constant but sensitive supervision due to his severe visual impairment and he’s also unsteady when walking or running.

As his support worker, you will respond sensitively and appropriately to his needs and emotions and work co-operatively with his Mother and Case Manager.  This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated person to join the team and develop existing skills.  A truly rewarding role.

Pay and Benefits:
£10.50 per hour Monday - Sunday
On-going training & support provided
5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata
Free DBS check.
In order to promote continuity of our high care standards, you will be offered:

  • Ensure consistency of approach.

  • A full driving licence (endorsements to be disclosed) 

  • Non-smoker - this post operates a non-smoking environment.

  • Comfortable with dogs.

Satisfactory references & proof of eligibility to work in the UK required.

This position requires a disclosure request from the DBS. A conviction will not necessarily prevent you from being employed.

ILS provide Case Management and Rehabilitation Services on a nationwide scale.
When a persons life has been changed by injury, we address the practicalities.  We work with children and adults who have had moderate or catastrophic, complex injuries.  We assess individual needs and are able to provide a comprehensive Case Management and Rehabilitation Service designed to maximise independence.
ILS recruit on behalf of their clients and therefore, if you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection.  However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role.  Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.
