About The Role
Location: Hedge End area (Boorley Green), Southampton
Hours: Bank Hours available to cover shifts from 9.30am to 3.30pm (or hours within this window) from Monday - Friday
Driver required? Essential
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes, on duty to transport the client and her children and also to attend training.
Essential Experience: Experience of working with people with a brain injury
Desirable: Experience of carrying out therapy programmes
Interviews Week Commencing: As and when applications are received, in light of the government guidance these are likely to be held as telephone or video interviews
Start Date: ASAP (subject to satisfactory employment checks)

Fleur is 28 years old and lives with her family in the Hedge End area. She is kind, with a good sense of humour and loves to interact with people. 
Fleur has an acquired brain injury, following a car accident in 2015, and has physical and cognitive difficulties as a result of this. Therapy regimes are being put in place to support her with this and to help develop her independence. She has two young children (age 5 months and 2 years) who are very important to her and the role will involve supporting both Fleur and her children. Fleur enjoys going out and about and doing the things she enjoys. She likes to be able to try new things and to have the flexibility to explore new social and leisure opportunities. Fleur needs support with structure and routine and help to stay on task, so she can achieve what she would like to, and reassurance if anything is worrying her.
The Bank Support Worker role will involve:

• Supporting Fleur in maximising her independence in activities of daily living, including managing paperwork, making calls, going out (including shopping) and attending appointments.
• Supporting Fleur with prompting, planning and organising.
• Supporting Fleur to look after her own two young children.
• Supporting Fleur with managing domestic tasks at home including cleaning and cooking, as requested by our client.

Pay and Benefits:
£12.00 per hour
On-going training & support provided
5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata

About You

  • A full driving licence (endorsements to be disclosed) and able to use own car for work purposes, including transporting Fleur and her children.

Satisfactory references & proof of eligibility to work in the UK required.

This position requires a disclosure request from the DBS. A conviction will not necessarily prevent you from being employed.

ILS provide Case Management and Rehabilitation Services on a nationwide scale.
When a persons life has been changed by injury, we address the practicalities.  We work with children and adults who have had moderate or catastrophic, complex injuries.  We assess individual needs and are able to provide a comprehensive Case Management and Rehabilitation Service designed to maximise independence.
ILS recruit on behalf of their clients and therefore, if you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection.  However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role.  Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.
