About The Role
Location: Newport, Isle of Wight
Days & Hours:  Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover) 
55 hours per 4 week cycle - working every other week (on Week 2 and Week 4) Thursday 8.45am-4pm, Friday 8.45am-4pm & 5pm-9.30pm, Sunday 9am-4pm & 5pm-9.30pm. 
Bank hours Various hours to cover absences of current Support Workers.
£12.36 per hour Monday – Friday 8am – 8pm, £13.39 Monday – Friday 8pm – 8am and Friday 8pm – Monday 8am – there will also be an additional payment for holiday cover

Alice aged 31 has a good sense of humour and is very sociable. She loves being busy and is independently minded, she loves to achieve her goals.  Alice really likes to go shopping, to the cinema and/or theatre and also boxing with her personal trainer.  She enjoys going to work. Her family and care team are very important to her.

Alice has Cerebral Palsy which has mainly affected her mobility, coordination, and dexterity.  She also has a visual impairment, cognitive challenges.  Alice walks with the use of a frame and is dependent on a powered wheelchair for independent mobility.

You will be joining a small care team where you will be taking direction from the Case Manager and Senior Support Worker to ensure that Alice receives all the care she needs. Alice requires assistance with her daily routines and personal care as required.  Domestic assistance as required and help with medication.

You will be expected to provide companionship and may be required to take the client away on holiday.  Be able to promote and to enable Alice to pursue social outings and work.  This job will suit someone who is calm but very proactive and able to bring lots of enthusiasm to the role.

Pay and Benefits:

About You

It would be great to receive your application, if you have the following skills/behaviours:

*Female due to providing personal care
Must be able to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available and is designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.
Experience with working with Cerebral Palsy
Confident and comfortable working in Alice’s own home and sensitive to her needs and wishes 
Can demonstrate commitment and passion for meeting Alice's needs
Can demonstrate empathy and understanding in an appropriate and professional manner
A team player who understands the importance of feedback to qualified members of the team
Can develop productive and professional relationships with others

A full driving licence (endorsements to be disclosed)
