Carer/Support Worker/Client Recruitment
£11.00 per hour Monday to Friday, £12.50 per hour Saturday to Sunday
About The Role
Location: Salisbury
Days & Hours: Part time
permanent hours (approximately 30 hours), Fixed Term Maternity Cover (approximately 30 hours), School Holiday Cover (days) and Bank shifts, to cover weekday daytime, evening, nights and weekend days and nights shifts and school holidays 
Pay: £11.00 per hour Monday to Friday, £12.50 per hour Saturday to Sunday. This will rise after completing specific training and passing relevant competencies required by the family.  There is a 6 month probationary period.
Driver required? Desirable 
Driving Clients Car? Yes, our clients Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV), automatic
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes, On duty and to attend trainings
Essential: Supporting adults with Cerebral Palsy
Desirable: Experience working with adults with trauma and an interest in therapy
Family Pets: 1 dog, 2 cats
Accommodation (while on duty): Good sized bedroom with en-suite.

Sebastian is in his early twenties and is very bright and alert with a caring nature and a fantastic sense of humour.  He likes his electric guitar and attending all types of concerts, either with his family and/or support workers. 
Sebastian has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy.  Working mainly within the family home, Sebastian will require full assistance with his daily living, monitoring of medical supplies, arranging activities with activities he enjoys and chooses, also to support with accessing the community by planning and arranging social activities.  You may be required to accompany Sebastian on holiday, which may include his family.

You will be joining a small care team where you will be taking direction from the Case Manager and Team Leader to ensure that Sebastian receives all the care he needs. This job will suit someone who is calm but very proactive and able to bring lots of enthusiasm to the role,

About You

It would be great to receive your application, if you have the following skills/behaviours:

  • Must be able to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available and is designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.
  • Experience with working with Cerebral Palsy
  • Confident and comfortable working in Sebastian’s own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of him and his family
  • Can demonstrate commitment and passion for meeting Sebastian's needs
  • Can demonstrate empathy and understanding in an appropriate and professional manner
  • A team player who understands the importance of feedback to qualified members of the team

If you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection.  However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role.  Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.
