TL up to £16.00 per hour. SW up to £14.50 per hour
About The Role

Location: Salisbury

Our Client, Sebastian is recruiting for several new Support Workers and a Deputy Team Leader to provide him with all the care and support he requires daily.  

Days & Hours: Variable hours available to include days, evening, nights, and weekends.  Some of these hours are Fixed Term Contract to cover maternity and extra during the school holidays

Pay and Benefits: 
Deputy Team Leader: £15.00 per hour Monday to Friday, £16.00 per hour Saturday and Sunday.
Support Worker: £12.50 per hour Monday to Friday, £14.50 per hour Saturday and Sunday.  £NLW for sleep in nights (NLW is £8.91 per hour for aged 23+).  5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata. DBS check, full induction, relevant and ongoing training (including The Care Certificate) On-going support from a dedicated Case Manager and HR department

Supporting adults with Cerebral Palsy and aware of emotional, behavioural, and cognitive difficulties.
Driver - You will be required to drive our client's Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV), (automatic) Please be aware that there is a dog and two cats in the family home.
Desirable: Experience working with adults with trauma and an interest in therapy.

Interviews and Start Date: As and when applications are received, these may be carried out by video interview and looking to start as soon as possible however will wait for the right applicant (subject to satisfactory employment checks) 

Sebastian is in his early twenties he is bright, alert and has a caring nature with a fantastic sense of humour.  He likes his electric guitar and attending all types of concerts, either with his family and/or support workers. 

Sebastian has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy.  Working mainly within the family home, Sebastian will require full assistance with his daily living, monitoring of medical supplies, arranging activities with activities he enjoys and chooses, also to support with accessing the community by planning and arranging social activities.  You may be required to accompany Sebastian on holiday, which may include his family. Sebastian requires 2:1 care 24/7.

You will be joining a team where you will be taking direction from the Case Manager and Team Leader to ensure that Sebastian receives all the care he needs. This job will suit someone who is calm but very proactive and able to bring lots of enthusiasm to the role, The Deputy Team leader role will be supporting the Team Leader

Main Skills and Behaviours
You should have experience of working with someone who has cerebral palsy and be able to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.

Naturally, you will be confident and comfortable working in Sebastian’s own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of him and his family.  By nature, you should be friendly, approachable and have encouraging approach.

Great organisational skills, punctual, patient, and reliable qualities are something Sebastian will rely on so this is key in supporting him.
