Carer/Support Worker/Client Recruitment
Weekdays £12.00 per hour, Weekends £13.00 per hour
About The Role

Location: Broadstone, Poole
Pay and Benefits: Weekdays 
£12.00 per hour, Weekends £13.00 per hour - support/supervisions, 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata, DBS check, full induction, relevant and ongoing training (including The Care Certificate) On-going support from a dedicated Case Manager and HR department
5 hours per week to be worked at the weekend during term time and 10 hours per week during holiday time, the family are very flexible as to when the shifts can be worked.

Supporting adults with Cerebral Palsy and aware of emotional, behavioural, and cognitive difficulties.
Driver - You will be required to drive our client's Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV), (automatic) Please be aware that there is a cat in the family home.
Experience working with adults with trauma and an interest in therapy.

Interviews and Start Date
As and when applications are received, these may be carried out by video interview and looking to start as soon as possible however will wait for the right applicant (subject to satisfactory employment checks) 

Deborah is a client of ours, she is looking to recruit a *Female Support Worker to provide care and support. Deborah lives at home with her parents and siblings and really enjoys spending time with them. She attends college during the week and in spare time enjoys craftwork, cooking, reading magazines and spending time on her iPad.  Deborah enjoys shopping for clothes and books, as well as going out to the theatre and bowling, however, needs assistance to access these activities.

Deborah was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy when she was a baby and now is 20. Deborah will require some assistance with personal care and careful supervision when out and about. You will be taking direction from Deborah’s parents and Case Manager to ensure that Deborah receives all the care she needs.

Main Skills and Behaviours

You should have experience of working with someone who has cerebral palsy and be able to work with specialist equipment such as an electric wheelchair (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.

Naturally, you will be confident and comfortable working in Deborah’s own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of her and her family.  By nature, you should be friendly, approachable and have encouraging approach.

Great organisational skills, punctual, patient, and reliable qualities are something Deborah will rely on so this is key in supporting her.
