About The Role

Location: Newton Abbot
Days & Hours:
Bank shifts to be worked flexibly and in accordance of the rota, shifts are 24.25 hour from 7pm – 7.15pm the next day and include a sleeping night shift.

Yes, our clients is an automatic (must be 25+ for insurance purposes)
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes?
Yes, On duty and to attend trainings 
Supporting adults with brain injury and complex needs 
Experience of working with adults with trauma and an interest in therapy
Accommodation (while on duty):
A private room for your own use

Richard, born in 1972, has a lovely smile and people comment on his intellect and knowledge of various subjects.  His parents are very important to him, and he really looks forward to their visits, especially when his mum cooks a meal and he can play dominoes with his dad.  Richard also likes to attend CEDA, a community hub that offers him a lot of opportunities to try.  His other interests include Chess, Physics, collecting postcards and playing the piano.

Richard has an acquired brain injury, he mobilises independently, without using aids, on short distances and uses a propelled wheelchair for longer distances, but this is not needed often.  He is independent with personal care.

You will be joining a care team where you will be taking direction from the Team Leader and Case Manager to ensure that Richard receives all the care he needs. Richard requires minimal physical assistance with his daily routines but will need emotional support, reassurance and guidance throughout the day. This job will suit someone who is calm but very proactive and able to bring lots of enthusiasm to the role.

If you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection.  However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role.  Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.
